These Terms and Conditions govern all orders placed with Illuminator Latvia SIA (registration No. 40203380111, VAT No. LV40203380111), trading as Windows Latvia, authorised representative Uldis Tretjakovs, CEO and Founder. We manufacture and supply custom wooden windows, doors, and related products from our 14,000 m² factory at Jelgavas iela 27, Kalnciems, Kalnciema pagasts, Jelgavas novads, LV-3016, Latvia.
All quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless stated otherwise. Prices are quoted in EUR and exclude VAT, delivery, and installation unless specified. Quotations are based on the specifications and measurements provided by the customer, and are confirmed only upon signed written acceptance and receipt of the deposit.
Orders are confirmed upon receipt of a signed order confirmation and a 50% deposit payment. The remaining 50% is due prior to dispatch. Payment is accepted by bank transfer to the account details stated on our invoice. We do not currently accept online payments. We reserve the right to withhold delivery until full payment has been received.
Standard production lead time is 4 to 8 weeks from order confirmation, depending on order complexity, wood species, and glazing specifications. A confirmed production schedule will be communicated with every order. Delivery timelines may be adjusted for public holidays, force majeure events, and supplier-side delays that lie outside our reasonable control.
Delivery terms follow Incoterms 2020. Standard delivery is DAP to the customer's specified address within the EU. EXW from our Kalnciems factory is available upon request. Windows are packed in protective wooden crates on pallets for safe transport. Risk passes to the customer upon handover at the delivery point agreed in the order confirmation.
Installation services are available upon request and quoted separately from the product price. We provide installation guides, technical drawings, and mounting recommendations with every order. Where installation is carried out by a third party, responsibility for the workmanship of the installation lies with that third party. See our installation services.
We provide a component-based manufacturer warranty from the date of delivery, covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use:
Maintenance requirement. The warranty is subject to scheduled maintenance twice per year (spring and autumn), consisting of lubrication and adjustment of hardware by a qualified installer, and application of approved maintenance products to the timber and finish. A detailed Maintenance and Operating Instruction is supplied with every order.
Warranty exclusions. The warranty does not cover damage from improper installation (when installation is not carried out by Windows Latvia or by an installer approved by us), lack of scheduled maintenance, unauthorised modifications, accidental damage, vandalism, natural disasters, or normal wear of consumable components such as seals.
Full warranty terms, including claim procedure and the detailed component-by-component schedule, are set out in the written warranty certificate provided with each order. This commercial warranty does not limit or replace your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Protection Law of the Republic of Latvia (Patērētāju tiesību aizsardzības likums).
All of our windows, doors, and related products are manufactured to the customer's individual measurements and specifications. In accordance with Article 16(c) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU and the Consumer Rights Protection Law of the Republic of Latvia, the standard 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply once production of a custom-made order has commenced. Cancellations before production starts are accepted in writing and may be subject to an administrative fee covering design and preparation work already performed.
Our aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with any order is limited to the total value of the products supplied under that order. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages, including loss of profit, loss of use, or loss of data. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for damages caused by wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or personal injury where limitation is prohibited by law.
All designs, technical drawings, and specifications prepared by Windows Latvia remain our intellectual property. They may not be reproduced, shared with third parties, or used for manufacturing with another supplier without our prior written consent.
Neither party is liable for delay or failure in performance caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, pandemics, war, strike, government restrictions, supplier failures, energy outages, or transport disruptions. The affected party will notify the other without undue delay and will resume performance as soon as reasonably possible.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia. Any dispute not settled by direct negotiation will be resolved in the competent courts of Riga, Latvia. Consumers may also refer a dispute to the Consumer Rights Protection Centre (Patērētāju tiesību aizsardzības centrs, PTAC, www.ptac.gov.lv) or use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the date of your signed order confirmation will apply to your order.
