What are the main benefits of wooden windows over PVC or aluminium?
Wooden windows provide up to 400 times better insulation than steel and 1,800 times better than aluminium. Wood is a natural, renewable material with timeless aesthetics that can be endlessly customised. Unlike PVC which degrades, timber windows can be restored throughout their lifespan. Explore our full product range. 400x better insulation than steel
How long do wooden windows last?
Pine windows last 50 to 60 years, hardwood options like oak and meranti exceed 80 years. Many timber windows across Europe remain functional after more than a century. Our laminated timber with kiln-dried wood and factory-applied coatings ensures maximum stability from day one. 80+ years for hardwood
What maintenance do wooden windows require?
Modern factory-finished windows need less maintenance than expected. Clean frames two to three times yearly, inspect coating for wear. Fresh paint or stain every 8 to 12 years. For virtually zero maintenance, consider our wood-aluminium option with exterior aluminium capping.
Are wooden windows environmentally friendly?
Wood stores carbon throughout its lifespan and requires significantly less energy to produce than PVC or aluminium. We hold ISO 14001 environmental certification and source from responsibly managed forests. Read more about our company and heritage. Timber windows biodegrade naturally at end of life.
